Argus Necklace

Argus Necklace

$1,650.00

Hera’s watchman, Argus was the giant of one hundred eyes charged with guarding the nymph Io, disguised by Zeus as a heifer to hide her from his wife. It was said that he had so many eyes that he never fully slept; always with a few eyes open to keep watch. When he was slain by Hermes, the first blood shed of the new gods, his many eyes were preserved forever by Hera in the tail of a peacock to commemorate his watch.

A large solid golden pendant in 9kt Yellow Gold, set with an Australian Sapphire Marquise Eye, on a solid 9kt Yellow Gold chain.
